If you’ve studied yoga you may have heard of Ayurveda as it is often described as yoga’s sister science. They both work together and provide the truly holistic approach to health and wellness that speaks to me.

My own journey with Ayurveda began on a trip to India around twenty years ago with a chance meeting in a crowded marketplace. An Ayurvedic vaidya (a traditional Ayurvedic physician) provided advice and herbs that had an amazing result and on that day, the seed of Ayurveda was planted in my life. Since then, I’ve come to understand that Ayurveda is a truly holistic system of overall health that is freely available to everyone. I’ve seen the amazing healing potential of Ayurveda firsthand and have directly experienced the benefits of making better lifestyle, dietary and emotional choices in my own day-to-day routines.

With many years experience working as a teacher and counsellor I feel fortunate to have been blessed with a meaningful and rewarding career that has nurtured my own wellbeing through helping others. This commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of others continues and I know that the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda has much to offer in this area. This is because, unlike other healing modalities, Ayurveda works with the physical, mental and emotional aspects of a person. I am loving my journey, constantly inspired by a healing tradition that dates back thousands of years.

Marigold Ayurveda began as a way to connect with people through the cheerful and happy symbol of a marigold, one of my favourite flowers! Marigolds are traditionally used in India as part of sacred offerings in temples and their warm, golden colours are a symbol of the sun from which all our energy comes. In addition marigolds have therapeutic and medicinal qualities of their own.

I am a graduate of the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies, having studied under the highly respected Dr Ajit, an Ayurvedic doctor with 50 years of clinical experience both in India and Australasia. Ayurveda is my life, my passion and my calling and I am deeply committed to delivering it to you in the time-honoured traditions of the Vedas.

In a time when the demands of modern life, increasing levels of stress and emotional strain cause unhappiness, illness and disease, Ayurveda has never been more relevant. I can’t wait to share it with you :)
